We have just returned from a fantastic stay at La De Deveze. We were part of a large group with six of us staying (five adults and a full size 15 year old!) in Maison du Domaine and the remainder of our group in Maison du Tipperhopper.  Both villas have been lovingly restored and are decorated to an extremely high standard and are up there with some of the best villas we have stayed in across France. Andrew and Caroline were great hosts, always available to answer questions or provide ideas for trips and activities. We spent a day in Montpellier, a further day at the Le White Beach La Grande-Motte, visited the local wineries and the market at Sommières. In addition, the Festival in Quissac was ‘un Grand Spectacle!’ With fireworks and bulls and horses running through the narrow streets and through the arches down at the river, it gave a real flavour of local life.

Climbing the sweeping driveway and pulling up outside the wrought iron gates of La Deveze always makes your heart pound – wonders await. Autumns filled with adventure; long walks and awe-inspiring views, brocante treasure hunting or kayaking through rivers under tree canopies. Summer afternoons are whiled away over a bottle of wine by the hilltop pool, gazing through rosé-tinted glasses across the Cévennes mountains. The ancient barns of La Deveze have been painstakingly restored. You’ll find locally-sourced antiques, White Company linens and freestanding baths, whilst that luminous Languedoc sun streams in and keeps you company all year round.
